Count on Ten Frames - Up to 5

Learn to count and recognize numbers using fun ten frame activities!

What is a Ten Frame?

Ten frames are special boxes that help us count and understand numbers!
A ten frame has 10 squares (2 rows of 5) where we can place objects or draw dots to show numbers. Today we'll learn to count up to 5 using the first row of our ten frame.

How to Use a Ten Frame

1️⃣ Look at the empty squares in the first row

2️⃣ Count as you fill each square with one object

3️⃣ Say the number when you're done filling

Let's Practice Counting!

Parent Tips 🌟

  • Use real objects: Try counting with cereal pieces, buttons, or small toys on a homemade ten frame (draw one on paper!).
  • Make it a game: Say a number and have your child fill the frame, then check together - celebrate correct answers!
  • Connect to daily life: Point out groups of 1-5 items (apples, toys, stairs) and ask how many - then show it on a ten frame.
